Abstract

Because patients in intensive care are unable to take care of themselves, their health care is important for preventing other diseases and for increasing pain. However, the majority of nursing staff are not professionally trained in oral, hand, skin and catheter care. The purpose of this study was to study a health education programme for both professional and untrained nursing staff to provide health care for patients in critical care. Participants observed untrained staff before and after patient hygiene instruction. Before and after the survey, health professionals and unlicensed workers were observed to improve themselves.
