Study on the Effect of Gender Roles on Tomato Production: Taking Municipal Area Council as an Example.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of gender roles in tomato production on tomato production. This paper describes the socio-economic characteristics of tomato growers, investigates tomato production activities, estimates the costs and benefits of tomato production, and identifies the factors that restrict tomato growers in the study area. The research methods were questionnaire and regular interview. Descriptive statistics, gross profit margin analysis and Ztest were used in this study. The study showed that both male and female tomato farmers in the study area were highly profitable. However, the shortage of funds, improved seeds and extension services were the main restraints on tomato production in the study area.
